Gone are the days of shows like these on Nick, and now television is more about drama among teenagers. “All That,” “Kenan and Kel,” and “Rugrats” have lasted the turn of the century and are still popular among so many people because of their pure silliness and outrageous characters. These four babies genuinely entertained viewers with their misconception of life around them and their solutions to everyday problems. Angelica is always causing mischief, tricking the toddlers and making them try to save the day. Other characters often featured on the show are the Pickles’ dog Spike, and Tommy’s bratty cousin Angelica. Tommy is the ring leader of the group who is always looking for something exciting to do. The show centered around the lives of four adventerous toddlers: Tommy Pickles, Chuckie Finster, and twins Phil and Lil Deville. “Rugrats” is an animated series that ran from 1991 to 2004. The show always proved for many entertaining episodes with Kenan’s schemes, while the lovable Kel’s pure airheadedness provided many laughs. Kenan is always coming up with “get rich quick” ideas, and he often gets both the boys in trouble, while Kel is his dumb, goofy, orange soda-loving friend, who always succumbs to Kenan’s schemes. Starting this fall, TeenNick will dust off old faves like Rugrats, Kenan & Kel, Pete & Pete, The Amanda Show, All That and Clarissa and air. “Kenan and Kel” was another classic teen sitcom on Nick back in the 90s. The show, running from 1996 to 2000, was about two mischevious high school boys, Kenan Rockmore and Kel Kimble. Some popular sketches were The Cheese Police, The Loud Librarian, Everyday French with Pierre Escargot, and Vital Information. For example, the loud librarian was a skit where Lori Beth Denberg played a librarian who would scream at children that were trying to get her to quiet down. The original run of the show, from 1994 to 2000, was full of funny cast members–many that would go on to have successful acting careers after All That, such as Amanda Bynes, Lori Beth Denberg, Kel Mitchell, and Kenan Thompson, all of whom brought many laughs to this classic show. Anyway, so TeenNick came up with this block when they noticed all the groups and posting there was on Facebook about bringing these shows back.
Unfortanetly for those of you who are early sleepers, the block begins at midnight, and airs till 2:00 AM.
The show was full of ridiculous sketches in which the cast would say or do something completely insane. I loved Nickelodeons 90s shows and cant wait to see them back.
